This Facebook memory presented itself on Sunday, March 19th 3 years after we no longer had access to our dining room. We sincerely appreciated St. Andrew's Parish for proving the Dew with a temporary home during those uncertain times. The pandemic taught us a lot of things. Because of COVID we increased our access to food from 1.5 hours to 7 hours daily and when permitted we began to offer dignified food choices for the first time in our lengthy history. It reinforced how heavily we are relied on and that everyone deserves a good meal with no judgment and no questions asked, We have come a long way in those 3 short years and as always we simply could not do what we do without you. Our Monday hot meal was a chicken dinner thanks (again) to kitchen guy extraordinaire Tanner Harris and his awesome team at the RFDA Thunder Bay Regional Food Distribution Association. Tanner and crew cooked about 150 pounds of breaded chicken pieces for our meal today. How awesome is that! We served the chicken with scalloped potatoes and a mixed vegetable medley. All of our hot meals come with a soup, dessert and a choice of beverage. Thank you Tanner and crew and the community for the support that provides the opportunity to serve a good meal daily. Age Friendly Thunder Bay and the Good Food Box Thunder Bay teamed up and spent their Sunday afternoon at the Dew Drop Inn. We love having new groups and individuals visiting us and seeing first hand our day to day operations at The Dew. Afternoon shifts are from 12 pm to 4 pm and primarily are serving our hot meals. We cherish our volunteers and affectionately call them our Army of Awesomeness. We simply could not do what we do without them. Thanks for the support and the opportunity to serve a good meal daily.
