The Dew Drop Inn has been feeding the hungry in Thunder Bay for 39 years now. Prior to the pandemic we offered a safe welcoming environment where hungry men, women and children could come to eat with no questions asked and are treated with respect and dignity. As with so many in our community COVID-19 turned our world upside down. We had to reorganize and adapt very quickly to avoid any interruption in our feeding program as so many in our community rely on us as their only source of food....
About Us
What We Do
St. Andrew Soup Kitchen Inc. is a non-profit corporation and registered charity that operates a soup kitchen called St. Andrew’s Dew Drop Inn.
We feed hungry people, providing a nourishing take-home hot meal from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm or a bagged lunch daily from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. to anyone who joins us.

We rely on a great number of caring volunteers – church groups, service clubs, schools, organizations, businesses and individuals – who give of their time and money so that we can provide a nutritious midday meal each day.

A Little History
The Dew Drop Inn was established in 1981 by Sister Roberta Derochie, together with the St. Vincent de Paul Society to address a social reality, that many people were going hungry.
The organizers envisioned a safe, warm, welcoming place where hungry people can come to eat with no questions asked and where they were treated with dignity and respect. This tradition of caring is still fostered today by our dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
From 1981 to 2008, the Dew Drop Inn was a ministry of St. Andrew’s RC Church. In 2008, The Dew Drop Inn became a non-profit corporation and registered charity known as St. Andrew Soup Kitchen Inc.
The Dew Drop Inn continues to feed the hungry of Thunder Bay on a daily basis. We could not operate without the support we receive from the community.
