Marnie Nott – Chair

I have lived in Thunder Bay for 23 years.  I attended Lakehead University and graduated in 2005 with a Master of Arts Degree in English (with a focus on cross-cultural communication) and a Bachelor of Education Degree with qualifications in English and Visual Arts.  Over the past 15 years, I have taught kindergarten through adult education.  In the most recent years, I have worked for Lakehead Public Schools as a secondary communications teacher, and for Confederation College as a Communications Professor.  Since relocating to Thunder Bay, I have participated in many school and community extracurricular activities and initiatives.

As a mother of four young boys, it is very important to me that my sons grow up with a sense of responsibility, not only for themselves, but for their community as well.   I believe that a community is at its strongest when its children understand that success can only be measured by the compassion and respect given to its most vulnerable members.  I see immense value in being part of an organization dedicated to ensuring EVERYONE has access to a hot meal 7 days/week 365 days/year: an organization that ensures its patrons are received with dignity and respect.

I am excited for the opportunity to be a part of such an important community service and look forward to working closely with such an amazing and dedicated team at St. Andrew’s Dew Drop Inn this upcoming year.
