KC Councils Team Up for DDI Food Drive

KC Food Drive Photo 2018On Saturday, May 12th, the six Thunder Bay Knights of Columbus Councils held their 3rd annual food drive in support of the Dew Drop Inn.  The food drive, which was held at the three Metro stores, was a huge success resulting in 10 full truckloads of non-perishable food and meat products, as well as over $2,100 in cash and Metro gift cards.  Dew Drop Inn Board President Paul Deighton commented, “Our shelves were beginning to look pretty bare so this food drive could not have come at a better time…these donations will definitely help to get us through the summer months.”  Last year the Dew Drop Inn served over 69,000 meals or an average of 200 people a day.  The Dew Drop Inn receives no government funding and relies heavily on donations of food and financial support from the community.  The Dew Drop Inn would like to thank the 50 Knights of Columbus members and friends for their time in support of this event, the three Metro stores for their participation and the many Metro shoppers who supported this initiative.  You have proved, once again, that we are a city with a giant heart!
