Nutrition Month Food Drive Supports DDI

The nutrition month promotion at St. Joseph’s Hospital took on a charitable aspect this year when the dietary staff decided to do a food drive for the Dew Drop Inn soup kitchen.  The promotion which ran from March 19th to April 2nd collected non-perishable items for the Dew Drop Inn’s feeding program.  Lisa Lees, dietician at St. Joseph’s Hospital, commented, “We wanted to do something different this year.  With the Dew Drop Inn right next door, we thought it would be a good way to promote healthy nutrition within our facility while helping the Dew Drop Inn to provide healthy meals to hungry people in our community.”  Dew Drop Inn executive director, Kathie Terhljan added, “Our shelves were starting to look a bit bare so this food drive could not have come at a better time.”  Many thanks to Lisa and our wonderful neighbours at St. Joseph’s Care Group who participated in this endeavour!
